The Oakley Rodeo Committee is a working board consisting of a citizen volunteer group of local businessmen and women, who are responsible to plan, execute, and oversee the annual Oakley Independence Day Rodeo. This annual celebration is possible due to the Rodeo Committee's countless hours devoted throughout the year. In 2023, the Oakley Rodeo Board with the help of local partners significantly increased contestant prize monies to $20,000 per event (team roping equaled $40,000) for this "One Header" PRCA sanctioned rodeo. For 2024, an additional event has been added "Oakley Xtreme Bulls" with one-header event where 40 world-ranked bull riders compete for prize money of $35,000. In 2024, Oakley Xtreme Bulls was added as a fifth night of the rodeo.
